1. Who certifies your Black Belts?

Most people don’t know to ask this question. But it is important to know that the people teaching you or your children are certified, and where their curriculum is recognized outside of that location. Sometimes it is just their school, or their franchise.  A student who dedicates several years toward training and earns a Black Belt wants to know that their investment in time and money will be recognized. United Sports Tae Kwon Do is an official USA Taekwondo Club and its Black Belts are certified by the Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, Korea. Our curriculum is taught worldwide in more than 170 countries. Our Black Belts are recognized globally for life.

    2.  Who teaches the classes?

Confirm that there is a senior instructor teaching every class. Find out that person’s credentials. How many instructors are there? Have the adult instructors have passed background checks? At United Sports Tae Kwon Do, there is always a 2nd Degree Black Belt or higher leading every class, and most often, 4th Degree or higher. Typically, they have several 1st Degree Black Belts assisting them.

      3. What is your schedule?

      Classes are in-person 2X a week.

      • Age 5 and 6 meet Tuesday & Thursday at 5:15.
      • Age 7-11 Beginners meet Tuesday & Thursday at 6:15.
      • Teens and Adults meet Tuesday at 7:15 and Saturday at 11:15am.

We also offer classes online 2X a week for students age 7+. Attend the online session as a make-up for a missed class, or in addition to in-person classes.

      4. Will my child become more aggressive?

Unless you walk into a school like Cobra Kai from “The Karate Kid,” this should not happen. Ask the school about their philosophy on using martial arts outside of the training gym. Our students take an oath to never misuse Tae Kwon Do, to be champions of freedom and justice, and to build a more peaceful world. We don’t start fights, ever. We instill confidence to walk away whenever possible. We teach skills to defend ourselves if we must. And should that time come, we do so with restraint. So no, your child will not be more aggressive, but they will learn to be assertive in communicating how they expect to be treated.

        5. What if my child is not athletic?

Tae Kwon Do is an Olympic sport, but not everyone is an athlete and not everyone is competitive. That’s okay. Tae Kwon Do is about learning new skills and integrating mind and body for improved focus, control, and fitness. Many students who did not find success in stick and ball sports fall in love with martial arts. Ask a school you are considering if they are experienced and comfortable working with non-athletes, or if applicable, children with ADD / ADHD, or who are on the Autism Spectrum. These children benefit from martial arts training and we have seen the results. You will see significant improvement in their focus, control, and confidence. They just need the right teacher. At United Sports Tae Kwon Do, our team members have personal and professional experience in working with kids who learn differently.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Master Fox and and his staff!! Our son LOVES going to class and is so excited to attempt to earn his stripe each week; he currently has 7 and will be going for stripe 8 next week!! I love how encouraging Master Fox is when a student is struggling with a skill in class or doesn’t earn their stripe. We’re looking forward to watching our son progress through each belt throughout the years to come. Thank you Master Fox and staff, you’re all fantastic!!!

In this time I think instilling compassion, confidence and groundedness is extremely important. My daughter deserves amazing role models for strength, patience, focus and kindness. TKD is providing her with this. I’m so happy to be part of US TKD! Nothing else we have tried challenges her or excites her more than TKD.

I can’t begin to express how happy we are with this TKD school. Mr Fox made me feel comfortable and welcome from our first conversation. Mr Fox and all of the staff are approachable, friendly and work very well with the students, even for students who may need a bit more time or one on one instruction. I have seen positive changes in my son since starting class. He feels welcome and ACCEPTED. His confidence is improving and IS NOT WANTING TO GIVE UP.

Both of my kids have been training in this institute from past 4 years and I can see the difference how they look at the challenges now and then. Now they are very confident and determined to finish the things at first. Special thanks to Robert Fox, Master T, Braddick, and Dale for all their support.
